Bear at home. To conserve we do not use paper plates of cups.

I've never read any Barefoot books, but I have had them recommended to me a few times lately, so I am looking forward to checking them out! Bear on a bike looks like my son would really enjoy it.

I'm often out at mealtimes with my son, and we bring food with us. Instead of plastic baggies and paper bags to pack it all in, I try to use reusable food containers.

Dragon on the Doorstep looks good.

I only use cloth napkins. I bring the cloth bags to the grocery store and other stores. I make sure my dishwasher is full before I run it. I try to reuse things as much as possible and I recycle everything that I can.

Thank you for the giveaway! I know my grandchildren would enjoy this book.

turning off lights and appliances to save electricity :)

My favorite is the Gigantic Turnip. We try to turn off lights and appliances when not in use, and unplug items that won't be used for a while.

I'm sure my boys would love this.

I am new to Barefoot Books, but checking out titles online, I found Bear On a Bike to be very appealing (among many others!) Thanks!

I’ve been meaning to compile a list of all the things I do to conserve. Suffice it to say that I live with a constant mindfulness of resources and awareness which allows me to continuously come up with new ways to conserve.

Some examples are:

reusing plastic produce bags (keep them stored in my reusable canvas bags in car, ready to go…use canvas bags for all purchases (though I’m an extremely minimal consumer!))

I use empty dry cat food bags to collect the dirty cat litter and don’t discard it until it is full. (This avoids using all those plastic bags!) Could also use empty cereal bags for this. Use cereal boxes to collect paper recyclables and then just put on curb for pick up…voila!…no recycle bin to carry out and retrieve.

I save disposable paper napkins whenever I get them and have used them lightly. I then keep them under the kitchen sink and use them to clean the floor of stains/spills. (We use cloth napkins, flat large sponges in place of paper towels, handkerchiefs instead of kleenex/tissues, old tee-shirts as rags, etc.). I also save plastic cutlery obtained/used when outside the home, wash them and keep them in the car to use on road trips.

I will post about this giveaway on Facebook.
Thanks for the chance to win!

I like Animal Tales. I recycle, buy organic produce, use green cleaners, etc.
